The diamond, the untamable
I have always had a special affection for stones. Already in Cégep, I had a blast in my geology class. Long before I started making jewelry, while I was exploring possible ways to express my essence, I went to the Fabergé exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, twice rather than once, because I was fascinated by the stones adorning his fabulous eggs.
It's like I feel the energy of the stones and I go there to experience my relationship with them.
For me, the diamond is the ultimate stone that stands out from all stones, already by its hardness of 10, the maximum on the Mohs scale, by the fact that it reflects all the spectra of light like no other, but above all, by its origins.
Natural diamonds, beauties of Mother Nature, were formed in conditions of very high temperatures and pressures at depths of up to 190 kilometers in the Earth's mantle. Their growth requires from 1 to 3.3 billion years (between 25 and 75% of the age of the Earth).
The word “diamond” comes from the ancient Greek ἀδάμας – adámas “indomitable”. The symbolism is therefore very strong.
When you own a diamond, it is for eternity. Isn't God also eternal? The association with true and infinite love can only exist with a real stone, which has a history, a soul, an energy.
Forever I will be in love with stones.
